Outer Island Expeditions offers high quality, unforgettable marine experiences in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. We offer tours starting from Orcas Island and Anacortes. Our focus is on a personal experience. Other tour companies will pack you on their big boats for an impersonal and scripted experience. Rather than being barked at on a loud speaker while surrounded by forty or more strangers, try hopping aboard one of luxurious high speed vessels. Our vessels go farther and faster than any other fleet of vessels in the San Juans. We head deep into Canadian waters and out into the Straights of Georgia and Juan de Fuca when necessary. We boast the highest sighting rating of any company in the San Juans for both Spring Gray Whale and Summer Orca sightings. We spot orca or gray whales on almost 95% of our trips! We take pride in finding the whales when others don’t!

The 50th year is going to be one to remember! In the past 35 days we have had 4 hole in ones! Our little 9 hole course historically gets one, maybe two a year. We had the first one ever from a par 4 on Hole #6 from the back nine tee box by Dan Kimple. To top it off last night on hole #4, Tristan Savell kept the majestic 50th year going and hit a 259 yard hole in one! The 2nd hole in one on a par 4 in the 50year history of the Orcas Island Golf Course just 17 days after the first!!!

When you take that first step onto a ferry bound for Orcas Island, you'll leave behind the stop lights and congestion and enter a world that doesn't object when time seems to pass slowly. During your journey you'll glide by a string of evergreen jewels, the largest of the 743 islands created during the Ice Age. You'll pass rocky points that define sheltered coves, and beaches surrounded by madrona trees. Forty of our islands are inhabited, some by a lone occupant, but the majority of our population is located on Lopez Island, Shaw Island, San Juan Island and Orcas Island.
The paradise known as The San Juan Islands consist of 172 islands with names. Three major islands (with ferry service) are Lopez Island, Orcas Island and San Juan Island. You can reach them by a Washington State ferry, airplane or boat. Good accommodations and amenities await you in the islands.
Orcas, the largest island in the San Juan Archipelago shares it's name with one of the superstars of the San Juans - the Orca whale.
